Duke_Of_York_Yeovil

The Duke of York pub in Kingston, Yeovil. Photo possibly taken later than 1973 as not on the original 6x6cm negatives but on 35mm. The main pub shown in this photo, on the main road, was rebuilt in 1905 but there is a later rear elevation, more box-like and shown in other photos. A Bass gallows sign sits over the pavement to the main road. The bus shelter advertisement shows Frankie Howard boasting that Premium Bonds have a maximum prize of £75,000 The pub later became "Buddys" and later still the Conservative Club once they'd moved from Prince's Street.
