Postmarked 3rd July 1939 and posted from the Chy-an-Drea Hotel. This hotel, overlooking the railway station, adjoined the St. Ives Bay Hotel and was amalgamated into it after Shearings bought it in 2000 to add it to the St. Ives Bay Hotel. The view on the postcard is an artist's impression of standing in Fish Street and looking down at the harbour. Note that war was declared two months after the sending of this postcard.
